Intitulé du poste : 2018/03/20 – Post-doctoral position in radiomics of liver diseases, LBI – CRI, Paris

Type de structure : A postdoctoral position in radiomics of liver diseases is currently available at the Laboratory of Imaging Biomarkers of the Center of Research on Inflammation UMR 1149 INSERM - University Paris Diderot.
The Center for Research on Inflammation Research, Inserm unit UMR1149, was created in 2014 and is distributed on the Bichat and Beaujon university hospital sites in Paris. The team "Laboratory of Biomarkers in Imaging", led by Prof. Bernard Van Beers, has as main objective the development of new imaging biomarkers for liver and abdominal diseases. This objective is pursued mainly with MRI through fundamental, methodological and applied approaches in preclinical and clinical studies. Involving researchers, medical doctors and engineers, the research team is characterized by strong interdisciplinarity.

Contexte et mission : With high-throughput computing, it is now possible to extract innumerable quantitative features from MR images. Moreover, image data are increasingly interpreted in light of complementary data coming from other modalities, including genomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics. Thus, novel challenges in terms of data extraction, analysis and integration are emerging in the field. In response, novel methods such as machine learning or generalized statistical tools are gaining acceptance in the scientific and medical communities.
In this context, the proposed position involves the development, implementation and validation of novel post-processing methods of MR images to obtain imaging biomarkers of chronic liver diseases and liver tumors.
The position has a 12-month initial employment basis and is renewable.

Lieu : Bichat and Beaujon university hospital sites in Paris

Rémunération :

Diplômes requis : MD or PhD in physics, applied mathematics, informatics or biomedical engineering

Compétences requises : Strong expertise in quantitative MR imaging and image analysis, including C++ and Matlab programming. Skills in biostatistics, including heterogeneous data integration will be highly appreciated. Knowledge in liver physiopathology will also be strongly valued. The candidate should be fluent in English (and preferably in French), have good communication skills to interact in different research fields (physics, biology, radiology, hepatology, pathology, computer science) and high rigor in methodological approaches.
